The past two weekends, I have been a part of a Self Care for Women Workshop offered by Sharon Levine of Creek House and myself. It was a time to reflect, participate in guided meditations, share with other women, and learn about the Zentangle process. The group participants completed a regular Zentangle tile and also a simple “Zendala.” Below are the pictures of some of the lovely creations:
It was a relaxing, refreshing, and inspiring experience and I am grateful to have been a part of it. Thanks to Sharon and to all who attended.

My late calendar update includes: Hole in the wall, Fweel, Pea-nuckle, Soup Bowls, Kalido, Jointz, Scallops, DuBloop, Round Bout, Unme, Copada, Croon, Sprocket, and Kurtinz. Kurtinz is a tangle developed by Kate Lamontagne, CZT, and the instructions are not yet on the internet.
My attempt at the new Zentangle tangle Pea-nuckle, didn’t work out as planned here, so I’ll keep practicing it and use it for one of the extra spaces on the calendar.
Have a happy week!

This week’s I am the Diva challenge is to use the tangle Groovy (a tangle designed by Eden). I just discovered this tangle last week (see my May tangle a day calendar posting). This is a lovely tangle, but it does take a little practice to get the swoopy lines even. But the need for practice (almost) never stops me from jumping in, trying it, and posting it anyway! Here’s my second attempt, which I simplified significantly from my first tile:
I love the flowy nature of this tangle and will be using it more in future pieces. The other tangle in the tile is Eye-Wa, an official Zentangle tangle.
Thanks for the challenge! I hope stay back “on the horse” so to speak, and keep up with the Diva’s challenges more regularly.

We had an introductory Zentangle class on Saturday, May 5 at the Jutila Center in Hancock. 12 lovely women attended and here are the awesome tiles they made:
On this tile we used Snail, Keeko, Crescent Moon, and Florz.
Here we have Floo, Nipa, Onamato, and Flukes.
This was a wonderful class. All the ladies (Chris, Mary, Nancy, Marcia, Karin, Dorothy, April, Karen, Joanie, Deb, Tricia, and Jane) relaxed and allowed the creative process of Zentangle to unfold. I love watching the focus of the students when this happens, and enjoy the calm, quiet atmosphere of the room.
Thank you all, ladies, for another wonderful Zentangle experience. I wish you many relaxing, creative hours of tangling in the future.

Better late than never! To finish up the calendar, I added: Netting, Schmoozy, Pomegranate, Pillows, Planateen, Postl, Rosewood, Offerings, Springkle, and Westminster. I filled in some of the non-dated spaces with just playing around. The tangle Springkle is an official Zentangle pattern, and is currently only taught by CZT’s. Please let me know if you are interested in taking a class.
